When the devastating earthquake struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, GiveLight Foundation mobilized its community of volunteers and donors to join in the immediate relief efforts.
After a strategic analysis of relief organizations, GiveLight immediately launched a campaign supporting and partnering with UNICEF, which assists and cares for the underprivileged and unfortunate children around the world. GiveLight was able to successfully raise $5000 within a few days, thanks to our generous donors. All donations were sent to the UNICEF team who was already on the ground doing emergency relief effort, attending to the health, nutrition, shelter and water-and-sanitation needs of the children.
Givelight is now in the second phase of relief effort by working in partnership with Zakat Foundation. With the help of your donations we are able to support the feeding of as many children as possible. We are working closely with Zakat Foundation that has volunteers in Haiti, cooking and feeding more than 2,000 children a day. Generous donations are being used to bring daily supplies from the Dominican Republic to the St. Claire camp in Haiti.
Our work in Haiti is in continuum. We need your help to reach out and save as many lives of Haitian orphans as we can. Your donation of only a dollar or two can feed a child for an entire day. With our “A Dollar A Day” campaign, we hope to get 100 generous donors to donate $1 per day. Help alleviate the suffering of a child by sharing your light.
