At the heart of the GiveLight Foundation is a belief in every child’s potential and a dedication to realizing it. Through our carefully curated programs, we have witnessed that with the right guidance, love, and support, GiveLight’s children can grow and thrive. We are very proud to share that 32 of our children from our first home in Aceh, Indonesia, have graduated from College, and 14 are studying in various universities. Our dream is to see them become independent adults who make positive contributions not just to their immediate family but to GiveLight and also their broader communities.

Our unique approach and philosophy of providing a nurturing environment, quality education, and necessary life skills have helped children transition from a life of uncertainty to a future filled with possibilities. It’s more than just a statistic; it’s a profound transformation that we’re proud to spotlight through a few standout profiles.

Mohamed Ismathullah joined GiveLight Home Home in 2013 when he was just nine years old. From that day, he grew up surrounded by care, love, and people who believed in him.
School was not always easy for Ismathullah. He was getting ready to take his GCE O/L exam in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Schools closed, exams were delayed, and life became uncertain. When he couldn’t pass the first time, he didn’t lose hope. He studied again, worked harder, and sat for the exam once more in 2022.
After leaving GiveLight Home, Ismathullah stayed strong and focused on building his future. He found work as a meat processing assistant in his hometown of Kadugannawa. The job helped him learn responsibility and gave him confidence to stand on his own.
This year, his hard work paid off. Ismathullah was selected to join Lulu Hypermarket in the UAE as a skilled meat handler, where he resides currently. We are so proud of the young man he has become. His journey reminds us that success isn’t about how fast we move, but how strong we stay when life gets tough. Husni joined GiveLight Home in 2013 when he was 12 years old. From a young age, he stood out for his kindness, curiosity, and willingness to help others. He loved learning new things and often helped the younger children with their schoolwork. Football was his favorite game, and he enjoyed every moment spent playing with his friends. At GiveLight Home, Husni discovered his love for hospitality. He began a hotel management course to build a strong future in that field. Alongside his studies, he also worked hard to memorize the Qur’an — something that taught him patience and discipline. He spoke three languages — Sinhala, Tamil, and English — and dreamed of one day becoming a respected hospitality professional. Today, that dream has become a reality. Husni now works in Qatar at Lulu Hypermarket as a Senior Sales Executive. Through dedication and hard work, he has built a career he can be proud of. His friendly nature and strong work ethic have helped him climb the career ladder and earn the respect of his colleagues. From the boy who once helped his friends with homework to the confident young man leading in his workplace, Husni’s journey is a beautiful reminder of how far determination can take us. His story shines as an example of how dreams come true when you never stop believing in yourself.

Mohamed Anas joined GiveLight Home in 2018 when he was 12 years old. He comes from Mallawapitiya, Kurunegala, where his mother, two sisters, and grandmother live. His family visits
whenever they can, and he enjoys spending time with them during holidays and festivals.
At GiveLight Home, Anas was known for his calm and focused nature. He studied at Al Gazzali School and worked hard to do his best. English and Tamil were his favorite subjects, and he
enjoyed learning new words and languages. In the evenings, he loved playing football and helping with small tasks around the home.
Over time, Anas discovered his passion for hospitality. After finishing school, he earned his NVQ qualification from the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) in Hospitality Management. This showed his willingness to adapt and grow with new opportunities.
Today, Anas is exploring career opportunities in the hospitality field. His journey reflects dedication, gratitude, and faith — a reminder that success often comes when we follow our hearts and keep learning along the way. Abdul Razzak joined GiveLight Home when he was a young boy from Colombo with a big dream — to become a professional football player. From the start, his love for the game was clear. He spent many evenings on the field, playing with his friends and learning teamwork, focus, and discipline.
At school, Razzak studied at Wevita Maithree Maha Vidyalaya and completed his Ordinary Level exams. He also took time to help younger children with their studies and memorized parts of the Qur’an. His kindness and willingness to help others made him a role model for many around him.
Today, Razzak continues to chase his dream of becoming a professional footballer playing for Colombo Football Club (FC), a leading FC in Sri Lanka. He trains regularly and plays with great dedication. Alongside his sports journey, he also works at an Electronic Franchisee as a Sales Executive — a job that helps him support himself and his future goals.
The lessons he learned at GiveLight Home — hard work, respect, and never giving up — continue to guide him both in his job and on the field. He hopes to one day play football for the National team of Sri Lanka or play for a club overseas, showing that passion and effort can open doors to great things.

enjoyed sports, especially athletics and football. His hard work even helped him win prizes in running and other competitions.
During his time at GiveLight Home, Hassan also spent time reading the Qur’an and helping others. He was always curious about how things worked and dreamed of studying automobile engineering one day.
Today, Hassan has turned that same energy and curiosity into a successful career. He now works as a paint mixer, where he creates colors that brighten people’s homes and lives. His skill
and creativity have helped him grow into an entrepreneur in the world of colors — a young man who builds beauty with his hands and imagination.
