Front-end Web Developer

GiveLight Foundation is a holistic and mission-driven organization that relies on each of its employees to own their area of expertise and make an impactful difference. Our mission is to build beautiful homes for orphans around the world and give them a sense of belonging and confidence to pursue a successful life. We are supporting 1,000 + orphans today with a goal to reach 10,000 children in the next 10 years. 

As we grow, it is critical for us to expand our digital footprint. We are currently seeking a part-time Front-end Web Developer (15-20 hrs/week) to join our in-house marketing team.The product of your work will be a clearer representation of GiveLight’s vision, mission, and organization to website visitors (interested volunteers, donors, etc.) utilizing your deep skill sets in front-end web development and graphic design. We hope to increase our focus on visual consistency and usability.

Zooming out, the website is only one part of our overall online marketing strategy. Strong preference will be given to those candidates that display an understanding of online marketing strategy (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, YouTube, and other interactive social media).


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience (having developed websites on your own). 

  • Students in their junior/senior year of Bachelor’s degree and have strong technical, digital marketing, web/graphic design classroom experience are highly encouraged to apply. 

  • A knowledge of web usability principles and basic heuristics.

  • Experience in front end development using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge about Internet culture and expert-user of social media.

  • A passion and portfolio for visual design and communication through digital media.

  • Experience managing social media communities on networks social media platforms.

  • Creative copywriting

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, present key findings and apply findings to future programs.
