Compliance Manager
GiveLight Foundation is currently seeking a qualified Compliance Manager with experience in nonprofit management. This is a part-time position for 20-25 hours per week for the first 3 months, leading to a full-time position.
The position will play a key role in qualifying partner organizations around the world to help us grow and scale to 10,000 orphaned children. This role is critical in creating and managing policies in the area of compliance to ensure that our partners deliver on their commitments and maintain our high standard of care. The ideal candidate will have experience with both internal policy creation and enforcement and implementation with our global partners. The role will also be responsible for ongoing partner evaluation and seeking new partnerships in areas where the needs are greatest.
Reporting to the CEO, the position will be a key part of the organization’s strategy and expansion committee. The individual will work closely with the CEO and the expansion team and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on a variety of projects and managing programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the single point of contact for partner evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing oversight.
- Evaluate grant award requests and make recommendations to the expansion committee while driving timely decision-making.
- Create and implement a standard of care through policies and programs to ensure compliance with state, federal, international, and regional laws in host countries. Work with partners to operationalize regional policies, guidelines, principles.
- Prepare reports and documentation to fulfill reporting requirements.
- Create, document, and lead an annual partner renewal process that ensures compliance with GiveLight’s high standards of care.
- Ensure that partners align with GiveLight’s values and that partner compliance leads to a successful operation.
- Deliver compliance training to Give Light’s staff, partners, and volunteers around the world.
- Stay up-to-date on regulations impacting the nonprofit sector within the United States; as well as, regulations and standards of care in countries where we operate.
- Ensure that GivingLight maintains compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations.
- Audit and identify risk; as well as develop solutions to mitigate risk.
- Advise the organization on issues related to intellectual property, including the use of images and other content: calendar and monitor time-sensitive deadlines.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by Management.
EXAMPLE OF THE TASKS
- Forward proposals with the completed criteria form and feedback to Expansion Team.
- Schedule zoom meetings for the expansion team to review/finalize approvals as needed.
- Notify organizations who submit proposals of status.
- Organize calendar tasks so each proposal progress through each step through approval/denial.
- Follow up with each partnership to assure compliance with each area established for review.
- Update Expansion Team and/or BOD regarding annual compliance update/review status.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree with hands-on experience in compliance, partner management, and oversight.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities.
- A dynamic self-starter who is able to advance GiveLight’s strategies for growth.
- Willingness to take on new projects and commitments; and willingness to take on ownership of subject matter area of expertise.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to organize and maintain files, manage diverse assignments and projects, exercise judgment and decision making in prioritization of multiple deadlines.
The annual salary range for the full-time position is $65k-$70k.
