On February 7, 2026 the GL North Bay chapter held a special pre-Ramadan event with a Bistro theme. We are so grateful to our highly dedicated team lead, Nasira Iqbal, and all of our Boba Talk youth/volunteers. Here is a beautiful testimonial from Nasira.
In a heartwarming celebration marking the welcoming of Ramadan, the NCGL (North Chapter GiveLight) chapter, with the generous support of the Yaseen Foundation Women’s Committee and featuring a Global Bistro organized by NCGL students, their supportive families, and friends offering yummilicious food, hosted a vibrant fundraising event filled with joy and generous donations from the community.
Amidst twinkling lights and the scent of dates and warm dishes, the event raised funds to support the orphans’ daily needs such as food, shelter, education, and care throughout the year. Attendees also learned about the orphanage’s vital cause, and the day, filled with a spirit of solidarity, left everyone inspired, turning a simple gathering into a beacon of hope and compassion.
