Walk For Syria/Turkey.

We are so excited to announce the winners of our Global Art Contest!  The theme this year was “The Light of Mercy”. Thank you to everyone who submitted the artwork, the judges and those who voted.  Congratulations to all of the winners.  Your work is beautiful and you make us proud!

The winners are: 

1. Monalisa, 12 – Bangladesh

Monalisa is one of our girls from Bangladesh home.  She is in 7th grade, a very creative girl and really good at drawing. She loves art & craft and enjoys making flowers, flower vases, and greeting cards.  She is also a very good and diligent student. She lost her father at a very young age and has been in our loving care since 2015. She wants to be a Social worker when she grows up and help young girls like her.

2.  Rana, 7 – America

Meet our second winner, Rana, who is seven years old and lives in San Jose, CA.  She is homeschooled and is a very curious girl, whose dream is to be a scholar. Art is her best friend in exploring pretty much everything.  Reading books and baking are her favorite things to do.  Because she read Heidi recently,  she is planning to live in the Swiss Alps.

3. Maqsuda – Bangladesh

Our third winner is also from our home in Bangladesh. Maqsuda is a girl with many talents. Her Quran recitation is excellent. She is also good at drawing and singing. She can pick up any song including Gazal and Nasheed. She lost her father when she was very young. She and her younger sister have been in our home since 2016. She is now in 7th grade and dreams to be a teacher to uplift girls like her to have bright futures.

Runner Up:

1. Azrah, 13 – South Africa

Azrah is 13 years old and attends Islamia College in Cape Town, South Africa. Her hobbies include reading, drawing, painting and baking. She aspires to a career in either the arts or in the field of maths or science, which are also her favorite subjects at school.

2. Jana, 12 – America

Jana is a sixth grade student at Granada Islamic School, she is 11 years old. Jana enjoys drawing, crafting, and baking in her spare time. She aspires to go into either graphic or architectural design.

6.  Falah, 12 – Pakistan

Falah studies in Generation’s School in Karachi, Pakistan and is currently studying in grade 6. Her hobbies are sketching and reading books. Her aspiration is to become a successful person in the future, and someone who can help others.
