During my trip to Istanbul last summer, one of the most profound moments was visiting a local orphanage that GiveLight supports where I spent time with middle and high school students. What struck me most was their warmth, optimism, and strong sense of character. Their character and spirit left a lasting impression on me.
Each conversation revealed a depth of kindness, curiosity, and ambition that was truly inspiring.
Despite the challenges they face, these young individuals radiate hope and vision for their futures, sharing their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, engineers, scuba divers, community leaders and innovators driven to make a difference.
Engaging with them reminded me how universal the language of kindness and aspiration truly is. The experience was deeply enlightening. It expanded my understanding of resilience, gratitude, and the boundless potential that thrives even in the face of hardship.
