What about life inspires you?
I am inspired by my mother’s compassion towards others, and by my father who was orphaned before age 1 and then also lost his mother when he was only 12.
Why did you choose to volunteer with GiveLight Foundation?
I have had a very blessed life and I enjoy using my experiences and educational background to support the orphans that are part of the GiveLight family. My own 3 children and husband motivate me to plant the seeds for future generations.
How do you help make a difference by doing what you do here?
When my family visited the GiveLight orphans in Pakistan in 2009 and 2012, we bonded instantly and they became a part of my extended family. I have served GiveLight with fundraising, organizing the Hakone Garden & Women’s Gala, co-leading for the 1K Dinner, assisting with annual walk-a-thon, and helping coordinate the Bay Area Local Orphan program. Recently, my daughters and nieces organized and helped me host an exclusive ladies retreat at my home that benefited our local orphans.
