tasneem-manjraWhat about life inspires you?

Anything from home to school, city to nature, friends to teachers, all inspire me in one way or another. Yet what drives me the most is helping others in anyway I can.I’m inspired by the ability to impact change…on all levels. We are fortunate to have the ability to change ourselves for the better everyday, but even more importantly we have the ability to impact change in the lives of others…sometimes something as simple as a smile or a few kind words can have a transformational effect on those around us. This ability is a miracle and a blessing, and it is so beautiful to see individuals utilize it to change the world around them for the better.

Why did you choose to volunteer with GiveLight Foundation?

GiveLight’s charter strikes a chord in my heart. Orphans are easily the most vulnerable individuals in this world, which is why we are instructed time and time again in the Quran to aid them.It is our duty to give these children hope, love, and light. I feel that GiveLight is an extremely results-oriented non-profit, and I wanted to support their mission, and god-willing help to grow the organization.

How do you help make a difference by doing what you do here?

My hope is that I can utilize my marketing skills to raise awareness of GiveLight. I have yet to meet a person who is not touched by Dian’s story or GiveLight’s mission. If we can raise awareness, we can raise more funds, and that simply means more homes and resources for orphans.
